Achieving Gender Diversity is much more than giving a Regulatory Push: Kemmy Tan

Kemmy Tan Peck Mun oversees the development of Marina One and DUO with an expected gross development value of over SGD 11 billion at M+S. Co-owned by Khazanah & Temasek respectively, M+S Pte Ltd was set up in 2011 to develop Marina One and DUO, two integrated property developments in Singapore. As a legacy project that will be appreciated by current & future generations, these two developments are symbolic of the strong partnership and historical ties between Singapore and Malaysia.

Prior to joining the group, Kemmy was the CEO of YTL Land and Development Bhd, where she helmed the group’s international luxury property portfolio which included key markets such as Singapore, Malaysia and Japan. She also served as Alternate Director on the YTL Starhill Global Reit Management Board.

Kemmy has more than 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, having previously held positions such as General Manager of Sentosa Cove – Singapore’s pioneer and only integrated marina residential development. She spearheaded the marketing and estate management of the 117 hectares project, achieving SGD 5 billion turnover in three years.

In this chat on Winning Ways, Kemmy talks to the challenges faced by women in the corporate boardrooms and how achieving gender diversity is much more than giving a regulatory push.
