Mindset change is critical to achieving women empowerment

Women achievers from across Asia Pacific honoured at 2nd Women Icons Asia Summit & Awards

Singapore, March 19, 2018:  The 2nd Women Icons Asia Summit & Awards 2018 www.womenicons.com was held amidst some great energy, passion and revelry at the Raffles Town Club Singapore on March 16, 2018. The summit this year brought together Women Achievers from Asia including Philippines, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, India, Hongkong & Singapore. Aside to honouring their success & accomplishments the forum also discussed challenges of Women in leadership.

An initiative by Singapore-headquartered, Business Excellence & Research Group (BERG) Pte ltd, Women Icons Asia is a premier platform that celebrates and honours the accomplishments & contributions of women who have excelled in different spheres of life and are an inspiration to the society.

The summit discussions were centred around the topic “Women in Leadership: Does Asia has a lot of ground to cover?” The panelists included Ms. Lavinia Thanapathy President, PrimeTime Business & Professional Women’s Association; Ms. Susan Jain, CMO – IBM Asia Pacific; Ms. Sally May Tan,  CMO & Head Business Development – Tamu Pte Ltd and Mr. Victor Tay, Vice Chairman – United Nations Global Compact and President – Association of People with special needs. The session was moderated by Mr. Vishwesh Iyer, Managing Partner, BERG Singapore.

“Diversity & inclusiveness in workforce and equitable opportunities for women are critical for a harmonious social balance. The Women Icons initiative has been making a steady progress in engaging the various stakeholders to atleast discuss the issues in a public forum. Idea is to be a catalyst in the change process,” said Vishwesh Iyer, Managing Partner, BERG Singapore.

Following the Summit disucssions, the Women Icons Asia 2018 Awards were presented.
