Singapore SME retailers drive online export sales

Singapore, July 2020: Traditional brick-and-mortar retail businesses have been among the hardest hit due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent ‘circuit-breaker’ to control the spread. However, many local retailers here have turned this adversity into an opportunity to not only go online but also export into multiple international markets such as Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, by working with a cross border e-commerce platform company like SELLinALL, a rapidly-growing, Singapore-based Multichannel E-commerce Platform (MEP) and service provider.

Huge potential of international e-commerce for Singapore brands

The last few months have highlighted the enormous potential of e-commerce to help sellers generate revenues from a new channel as well as internationalise and establish their brands in new geographic markets. Notwithstanding the challenging economic climate, over 100 Singapore merchants have already signed up to sell online using just SELLinALL’s solution since the beginning of the year. Nearly half of these merchants are either former brick-and-mortar-only retailers or B2B distributors with no prior history of online sales. According to Vikram Ilango, Co-Founder & CEO of SELLinALL, the company has been able to multiply the number of orders and the order value for its merchants between January and April this year.

“We are committed to helping businesses tide over the Covid-19 crisis. We understand the existential challenges faced by many retailers. It is also encouraging to see that opportunities are available for businesses to not just survive but also grow their business. Cross-border e-commerce will play a critical role as part of the ‘new normal’ that businesses will have to adapt to. Our business model ensures that there is no upfront risk for the Singapore SME in adopting this new method of export sales.”

“Thanks to the excellent support from the government, SMEs have a great incentive to sell online and build or strengthen their brands. If ever there was a right time to unlock the potential of the online sales channel, it is now. And we are here to work together to achieve the best outcomes,” adds Vikraman.

SELLinALL, founded in 2015, is a cross border e-commerce solution provider that helps over 3000 merchants  sell on multiple e-marketplaces.
