KAIHSHIUNG, TAIWAN, August 12 : AegisClear is positioning itself as a technology infrastructure link for Taiwan’s push to become an Asian Asset Management Center, as the digital asset platform expands access to tokenisation and stablecoin settlement for institutional finance, asset management and wealth solutions.
The Taiwan-based company said its strategy is aligned with the Asian Asset Management Center initiative, which seeks to strengthen Taiwan’s role in institutional collaboration, financial technology integration and wealth promotion. AegisClear said it plans to support this agenda by building an offshore settlement hub platform that can connect traditional assets, digital assets and stablecoins, with the aim of bringing capital back to Taiwan.
The announcement comes at a pivotal moment for Taiwan’s financial ecosystem. According to AegisClear, Taiwan is now the world’s fourth-largest stock market by capitalisation, with a market value of more than US$5 trillion, behind only the United States, China and Japan. The company said recent streamlining of Taiwan’s regulatory framework and anticipation of stablecoin approval have created a timely opportunity for digital asset infrastructure providers to support the next phase of financial market development.
AegisClear is working with regulators to secure a virtual asset service provider licence once such licensing becomes available.

“The strong government support for real-world tokenization and stablecoins from Taiwan and the AAMC recognizes the global trend of transforming the financial sector and wealth reserves,” said Serra Wei, Cofounder of AegisClear. “AegisClear can promote Taiwan’s financial growth with its platform to connect different assets, from traditional to digital assets and stablecoins, and offer an offshore settlement hub bringing capital back to Taiwan.”
Tokenisation Meets Taiwan’s Capital Market Scale
AegisClear’s strategy reflects a broader shift in Asian financial markets, where tokenisation, stablecoins and digital custody are increasingly being explored as infrastructure for asset management, settlement and institutional finance.
The company said digital assets and stablecoins are gaining traction in Taiwan, creating an opportunity to demonstrate how these instruments can be used in regulated financial markets. Its platform is designed to provide institutional-grade on-chain delivery-versus-payment and settlement of digital assets within a unified custody infrastructure.
This is a critical requirement for institutional adoption. Asset managers, banks and financial institutions need infrastructure that can support digital asset issuance, custody, settlement and compliance while connecting with traditional financial systems.
AegisClear’s solution includes multi-chain and multi-platform compatibility across both public and private blockchains. It also integrates with various tokenisation platforms to enable seamless asset custody. The company’s broader group structure gives it access to a wider digital asset and custody ecosystem. This includes the US-based Aegis Trust Company, an SEC-qualified custodian that offers a banking-grade crypto-fiat on/off ramp, custodian-based staking, tokenised equities and money market funds.
The group also includes Hong Kong-based Digital Asset Clearing Center, known as DACC.HK, which offers seamless settlement of digital bonds with CIPS, stablecoins and CBDC. Together, the group’s capabilities are intended to bridge traditional finance and digital asset management.
Supporting Taiwan’s Green Finance and Fintech Initiatives
AegisClear said it is also working to support other Taiwan government-backed initiatives, including through the Kaohsiung Fintech Innovation Park. The company plans to develop diversified green financial products and services in Taiwan using digital assets.
Through financial technology infrastructure, AegisClear said it can develop real-world asset tokenised financial products and contribute to Taiwan’s goals around net-zero transformation and green growth.
The use of tokenisation in green finance is increasingly being explored across Asian markets as governments and financial institutions look for more efficient ways to mobilise capital into climate and sustainability-linked assets. Tokenised green products can potentially improve transparency, settlement efficiency and access, although regulatory clarity and institutional trust remain essential to wider adoption.
AegisClear’s Taiwan strategy therefore extends beyond digital asset trading or custody. It is positioning tokenisation as infrastructure for asset management, green finance and offshore capital flows.
Sandbox Hub and Test Portal for Financial Institutions
As part of its market-building efforts, AegisClear is opening a Sandbox hub for in-person demonstrations and offering an online test portal for financial institutions to test digital asset issuance and custody solutions.
This could help banks, asset managers and other regulated institutions understand how digital assets can be issued, held and settled within institutional-grade systems before moving to full commercial deployment.
The sandbox approach is likely to be important in a market where regulated adoption is still developing. Financial institutions exploring tokenised securities, stablecoin settlement or digital asset custody need practical testing environments that can demonstrate workflows, risk controls and integration pathways.
AegisClear is also participating in the 2026 Taiwan Women’s Entrepreneurship Academy, organised by the Enterprise Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The involvement places the company within Taiwan’s wider innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem at a time when financial technology, digital assets and cross-border capital markets are receiving greater policy attention.
Building a Bridge Between Traditional and Digital Finance
AegisClear’s platform sits within a wider group that combines regulated custody, settlement infrastructure, tokenisation and philanthropic applications of blockchain. Alongside Aegis Trust Company and DACC.HK, the group includes the Tokenization Foundation, a public charity that leverages AI, blockchain and digital assets to deliver humanitarian aid funding instantly, transparently and at scale.
This broader structure reflects AegisClear’s positioning as a bridge between traditional finance and digital asset management. The company said its emphasis is on security, innovation and excellence, with products designed to support institutional users as they move towards tokenised and on-chain financial infrastructure.
For Taiwan, the timing could be significant. The island already has one of the world’s largest capital markets and a deep technology ecosystem. If regulatory frameworks continue to evolve around stablecoins, tokenisation and virtual asset service providers, Taiwan could become a more active regional hub for digital asset-enabled wealth management and settlement infrastructure.
AegisClear’s strategy is built around that opportunity. By connecting traditional assets, digital assets and stablecoins through an offshore settlement hub, the company is seeking to align itself with Taiwan’s ambition to become a major Asian asset management centre.
For institutional finance, the next stage of digital asset adoption is likely to be less about speculation and more about infrastructure: custody, settlement, compliance, tokenised products and integration with existing financial rails.
AegisClear is betting that Taiwan’s regulatory momentum, capital market depth and growing interest in stablecoins can create the conditions for that infrastructure to scale.
