SINGAPORE, September 6, 2024 – The 8th ASEAN CIO Forum, organized by the ASEAN CIO Association (ACIOA), is set to take place in Manila from 18-19 September 2024. The event, supported by the Philippines and aligned with the ASEAN Digital Masterplan 2025 (ADM), will gather regional leaders to discuss critical topics such as sustainability, cybersecurity, and advancements in AI and blockchain technologies.
Titled “Powering a Sustainable ASEAN Digital Society and Economic Future with Secured, Transformative Technologies and Ecosystem,” the 1.5-day forum and exhibition will be co-hosted by the Philippines CIO Association (PCIOA) and CIOF Foundation. The forum will provide senior ICT leaders with insights into the digital challenges and opportunities emerging in the ASEAN region, particularly in green technologies, governance, and transformative digital strategies.
This year’s event will focus on strategies for tackling growing digital risks and embracing technological advancements. Key topics include cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning, and the role of public-private partnerships in fostering sustainable digital growth. Returning to an in-person format for the first time since the pandemic, the ASEAN CIO Forum will offer a unique platform for C-suite leaders to collaborate on solutions that address regional challenges and drive digital transformation. The forum will showcase the latest technological advancements that are revolutionizing industries, such as AI-driven cybersecurity and green technologies.

Jonathan C. Pineda, OIC Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) in the Philippines, expressed his enthusiasm for discussions on robotics and AI, emphasizing the opportunities and challenges these technologies present across the region. Benjamin Goh, Senior Vice President of Deep Cybersecurity Capabilities at ST Engineering, highlighted the importance of staying ahead of cyber threats, particularly with the rise of AI-driven defences.
As ASEAN nations continue to accelerate digital transformation, the 8th ASEAN CIO Forum aims to spark crucial conversations that will shape the region’s technological and economic future. Registration for the event is open until 11 September 2024.
