KUALA LUMPUR, JANUARY 30, 2018 – Women Achievers from Malaysia representing a diverse category of professions & sectors were recognised at the inaugural Women Icons Malaysia Summit & Awards today at the Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel. Conceptualised & hosted by Singapore-headquartered Business Excellence & Research Group Pte Ltd (BERG), the event is part of a continuing initiative following the success of the Asian Women Icons Summit & Awards in Singapore in 2017.
Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir was the Guest of Honour & Keynote Speaker on the occasion. She called upon women achievers to step and become role models for the younger generation. The speakers at the panel discussion on the topic, “Building a Gender Sensitive Environment to Nuture Achievers” included Ami Moris, COO, Maybank Kim Eng Group; Marianne Clark-Hattingh, UNICEF representative to Malaysia; Shanthi Thiruchelvam, Executive Director & Principal Consultant, Perception Management Sdn Bhd and Mr Anwar Jumabhoy, Author, Coach & Facilitator. Women Icons aims to celebrate and acknowledge the accomplishments and contributions of women trailblazers in Malaysia who have excelled in different spheres of life- they take on multiple roles in society, boardrooms or at home that make a significant difference.
