SINGAPORE, June 20, 2025 — Azul, the only company wholly focused on Java, has expanded its partnership with Java and DevOps consultancy OpenValue into North America, coupling the move with a newly launched Java migration guarantee designed to give enterprises certainty on timelines, budgets and risk when moving away from Oracle Java.
Under the agreement, OpenValue’s certified migration services — already widely adopted across Europe — are now available to Azul customers and reseller partners in both Europe and North America. The new guarantee assures organisations that migrations to Azul Platform Core and Azul Platform Prime will be delivered on time and within budget, addressing mounting demand for predictable outcomes in large-scale, business-critical environments.
Founded in 2017, OpenValue introduced its certified migration services in 2020 to help enterprises modernise Java estates and escape Oracle’s rising licence fees and restrictions. Chief executive Robert Bruinink said the guarantee reflects accelerating demand on both sides of the Atlantic:
“By expanding our strategic partnership with Azul, we can offer customers a proven path to move away from expensive, restrictive Oracle Java — while guaranteeing that migrations will be completed on time and on budget. Together with Azul’s best-in-class Java platform, we’re helping organisations optimise costs, improve performance and take full control of their Java estates.”
Full-stack Java coverage
Azul provides supported builds of OpenJDK across every major Java version — including long-outdated Java 6 and Java 7 — and counts global banks, e-commerce leaders and technology innovators among its users. Its flagship offerings, Azul Platform Core and Azul Platform Prime, promise long-term reliability, performance tuning and enterprise-grade security while lowering total cost of ownership.
Simon Taylor, Azul’s vice-president of Global Partners and Alliances, hailed the guarantee as a “game-changer” for enterprises anxious about modernising their Java portfolios. “OpenValue’s Java migration guarantee gives enterprises the confidence to modernise their Java estates with clear expectations and no surprises. We’re excited to expand this partnership into North America and continue enabling our customers and partners to drive successful, low-risk migrations to Azul,” he said.
The move strengthens Azul’s global channel strategy, adding assured migration capabilities to its platform proposition at a time when many organisations are scrutinising Java licencing costs. By aligning OpenValue’s process-driven expertise with Azul’s performance-focused builds of OpenJDK, the partners aim to offer a one-stop route for enterprises seeking both financial and technical gains from their Java estates.
