MACAU, May 29, 2025 – A dazzling showcase of next-generation robotics, human-centric artificial intelligence, mixed reality, and clean energy solutions marked BEYOND Expo 2025, one of Asia’s leading innovation and technology gatherings. Held from May 21 – 24 at The Venetian® Macao’s Cotai Expo, the 5th edition of the Expo attracted more than 800 companies and drew industry leaders, investors, policymakers, and media from across Asia and beyond.
Running under the theme “Empowering Asia, Connecting the World”, this year’s Expo highlighted Asia’s growing role in the global technology ecosystem. With a strong emphasis on international cooperation and innovation-led economic development, BEYOND Expo 2025 reaffirmed its position as a platform bridging East and West through dialogue, technology, and investment.
Innovation on Full Display
Visitors were greeted by an array of cutting-edge technologies across sectors such as AI, HealthTech, Clean Energy, Lifestyle Tech, SportsTech, and FinTech. Particularly captivating were live demonstrations of advanced robotics and the human-centred AI systems designed to address complex societal challenges. Xpeng Aeroht’s much-anticipated flying vehicle demo drew wide attention, offering a glimpse into the future of urban mobility.
The Expo’s thematic focus extended to practical applications and policy relevance, as panels and forums tackled some of the most pressing issues facing the industry today — from green infrastructure and sustainability to cross-regional tech collaboration.

Opening Dialogue: Asia’s Role in Global Growth
The opening keynote at the BGlobal Summit was delivered by H.E. Djauhari Oratmangun, Ambassador of Indonesia to China, who underlined Indonesia’s expanding investment opportunities and the strategic role Asia plays in global growth. This sentiment was echoed by Takeo Kawamura, former Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, who called for greater cross-cultural collaboration and highlighted Japan’s evolving openness to global partnerships in science and technology.
A series of high-level dialogues and forums followed throughout the event, including the Japan Tech Forum, Middle East-Asia Forum, Asia-Europe Tech Forum, and the ORIGIN Southeast Asia Tech Forum. The SheTech Summit spotlighted women-led innovation, while the International Industrial Design Forum delved into the intersection of aesthetics, utility, and sustainable product development.
Celebrating Impact and Entrepreneurship
A key feature of the event was the BEYOND Awards Ceremony, which recognised 25 outstanding companies with the BEYOND Best Choice Awards. These awards, based on criteria such as technological innovation, market potential, and social impact, reflect the Expo’s mission to spotlight transformative enterprises and ideas.
Since the award programme’s inception in 2021, over 1,500 nominations have been received, with more than 200 trailblazers honoured to date. This year’s categories included:
- Innovation Awards – Celebrating breakthrough startups and visionary entrepreneurs.
- BEYOND Impact Awards – Honouring organisations aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- Gen Z Innovators: The New Force – Recognising the next generation of Chinese entrepreneurs.
- Medical Technology Excellence Awards – Focused on excellence in the health tech space.
- Healthy Living Products Innovation Awards – Highlighting progress in health consumption technologies.
The awards underscore BEYOND Expo’s commitment to nurturing future-forward solutions that benefit society and the planet.
The Venue: Where Innovation Meets Experience
BEYOND Expo 2025 was held at the Cotai Expo within The Venetian® Macao, one of Asia’s premier MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) venues. Offering over 71,000 square metres of exhibition space, Cotai Expo is part of the Sands® Resorts Macao, a hub of world-class hospitality, entertainment, and business infrastructure. The newly opened Londoner Grand, within The Londoner® Macao, added a new dimension of luxury to this year’s Expo experience.
