Denodo Unveils Agora Cloud Service, Streamlining Data Management for Global Organisations

SINGAPORE, 23 October 2024 – Denodo, a leading player in data management, has launched Agora, a cloud-based service designed to transform how organisations handle their data operations worldwide. Agora offers a fully managed version of the Denodo Platform, empowering businesses to enhance their data accessibility while reducing the burden of infrastructure and platform management. By offloading these tasks to Denodo, organisations can save time on routine operations and focus on achieving strategic goals, all while staying competitive in an evolving marketplace.

Many businesses today face difficulties in accessing the data they need promptly and efficiently. Traditional data management systems require installation and maintenance by the organisation itself, often hindering timely decision-making processes. Denodo’s Agora aims to address this issue by providing a fully managed deployment solution that simplifies data operations, offering flexibility without compromising control over key platform components.

“With Agora, customers can choose their preferred deployment method while Denodo takes care of critical aspects of platform management,” said Shanmuga Sunthar Muniandy, Director of Architecture & Chief Evangelist for APAC at Denodo. “This cloud-based solution streamlines data management, granting organisations the flexibility and agility necessary to thrive in today’s fast-paced business environment.”

The Asia-Pacific region has witnessed a rapid increase in cloud adoption, particularly in countries like Singapore, Australia, and Japan. According to a 2023 study, up to 0.81% of GDP in these nations is spent on cloud technologies. In Singapore, the government has been a strong advocate for cloud platforms, launching initiatives such as the Smart Nation programme to encourage cloud usage across both the public and private sectors. The introduction of Agora offers businesses in the region a new cloud-based solution, providing them with enhanced flexibility and expanded choices to meet their specific needs.

Agora simplifies data management by breaking down the complexities of traditional approaches. It features a dual-layered architecture, comprising a Control Plane and an Execution Plane, allowing for deployment flexibility while preserving user control over data and settings. Customers can either manage their own deployment environment or allow Denodo to handle it, easing the installation process.

Agora’s one-click templates allow for quick and easy provisioning of various deployment options, from basic evaluation servers to more complex enterprise setups. The platform’s consumption-based licensing model ensures scalability is cost-efficient, with organisations only paying for the Denodo Platform usage they require.

“Agora is an excellent new option for our customers who need fast, smooth, and straightforward data interactions,” commented Paul Zajdel, Vice President and General Manager for Data and Analytics at CDW. “By managing the backend, Agora enables users to handle data with ease and creativity.”

George Gilbert, an analyst at SiliconAngle, added: “Agora relieves organisations from the stress of managing yet another layer of infrastructure, allowing them to modernise their data management without extra hassle. It supports a wide range of use cases, both big and small.”

Denodo plans to make Agora available through several marketplaces, starting with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Alibaba, in the coming months.
