SINGAPORE, September 23, 2024 – Infineum, a global leader in specialty chemicals, has introduced a new strategic business unit, Energy Applications, as part of its commitment to a more sustainable future. This follows a corporate restructuring that saw the creation of two key units: Sustainable Transportation and Energy Applications.
The new Energy Applications division will oversee three core functions: ENEL (Enabling Electrification), I&I (Industry and Infrastructure), and NBD (New Business Development). These areas of focus are designed to streamline operations, enhance decision-making, and unlock new growth opportunities, especially in the renewable energy and electrification sectors.
Bruce Royan, who has been with Infineum for 25 years, will lead the Energy Applications unit as EVP, guiding its efforts to deliver innovative solutions in emerging energy technologies. “Infineum’s long-standing expertise in transportation fuels and lubricants provides a strong foundation for us to address the challenges posed by new energy applications,” Royan stated.
In the Asia Pacific region, Infineum is actively contributing to the sustainability transition through collaborations with energy providers, investment in solar farms, and a commitment to $20 million annually in manufacturing improvements. John Hong, Asia Pacific Sales Director, emphasized, “We are excited to fast-track the development of new solutions in support of the region’s sustainability goals.”
The Energy Applications unit will play a key role in Infineum’s broader efforts to reduce carbon emissions and achieve net-zero scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2050.
