PVcomBank and BPC Mark a Decade of Collaboration in Vietnam’s Banking Sector

HANOI, Vietnam, March 11, 2025 – PVcomBank and global payment solutions provider BPC are celebrating ten years of partnership, a collaboration that has played a significant role in advancing Vietnam’s digital banking landscape. The alliance has enabled PVcomBank to leverage BPC’s SmartVista platform to enhance transaction efficiency, security, and service accessibility, aligning with the nation’s broader push for digital transformation.

Vietnam’s financial sector has undergone rapid digitalisation, spurred by the State Bank of Vietnam’s National Digital Transformation Programme, launched in 2020. However, PVcomBank was already ahead of the curve, having adopted BPC’s SmartVista platform before the initiative began. Over the past decade, this transition has allowed the bank to expand its network to 124 branches across 28 provinces and cities, reinforcing its status as a digital banking pioneer.

The SmartVista platform has provided PVcomBank with a scalable and modular banking infrastructure, streamlining transaction processing and enhancing security measures while reducing operational costs. The bank has also expanded its cardholder base to more than 1.1 million across debit, credit, and prepaid cards, processing an average of seven million transactions per month.

Recognising the increasing sophistication of financial fraud, BPC has supported PVcomBank in implementing an advanced Fraud Management solution to detect and prevent emerging threats. The bank has also upgraded its security framework with the adoption of 3DS 2.2 for Mastercard, ensuring a seamless and secure experience for users across all card types.

Nguyen Thuy Hanh, Director of Retail Banking at PVcomBank, highlighted the impact of the partnership: “Over the past decade, BPC has been a trusted partner, enabling us to transition from legacy systems to a future-ready platform. This strategic move has enhanced our ability to innovate, expand our card offerings, and uphold the highest security standards, ensuring a seamless experience for our customers.”

Hanh Bui, Country Manager for Vietnam at BPC, reiterated the company’s commitment: “We are proud to have supported PVcomBank in its digital transformation journey. Our goal is to provide long-term, reliable digital solutions that empower banks to remain competitive in an evolving financial landscape. We look forward to further strengthening our collaboration with PVcomBank to drive digitalisation and innovation in Vietnam.”

With its continued focus on technological advancement and customer-centric services, PVcomBank is positioning itself as a leading force in Vietnam’s evolving banking sector, with BPC remaining a key strategic partner in this transformation.
