Singapore FinTech Festival 2024 to Focus on AI and Quantum Tech Revolution in Financial Services

SINGAPORE, September 26, 2024 – The Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) is set to return for its 9th edition from November 6-8, 2024, with a strong focus on the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Quantum Computing in reshaping the global financial ecosystem. Organized by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Elevandi, and Constellar, the festival will be preceded by the Insights Forum from November 4-5.

Attracting over 66,000 participants from 150 countries in 2023, the upcoming edition will bring together a distinguished lineup of global central bankers, regulators, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors. Together, they will explore how advancements in AI and Quantum Computing can drive sustainable and inclusive growth in financial services, while addressing critical challenges like climate change.

Spotlight on AI and Quantum Technology

With rapid advancements and unprecedented investments in AI by corporations and governments, SFF 2024 will highlight the growing role of AI in financial services. This year’s dialogues aim to align policies that enable AI innovation while fostering a responsible AI ecosystem that emphasizes transparency, trust, and inclusion. Public-private collaboration will play a key role in ensuring that AI adoption benefits the financial ecosystem globally.

Quantum computing will also take center stage at the event. As global investments in quantum technology exceed US$42 billion, financial institutions are recognizing its potential to enhance performance, improve encryption, and optimize efficiency. However, the festival will also address the challenges of integrating quantum systems into financial services, with discussions on their impact on the industry’s technology infrastructure.

“The financial services sector is at a critical inflection point, with AI and Quantum Computing poised to revolutionize the global financial ecosystem,” said Sopnendu Mohanty, Chief FinTech Officer of MAS and Chairman of the Elevandi Board. He emphasized the importance of aligning technology, innovation, and regulation to unlock opportunities for economic and industry growth, while ensuring that these technologies are deployed responsibly.
