SINGAPORE, September 8, 2025 – In a move set to redefine global enterprise IoT deployments, Tata Communications and Cisco have announced a strategic collaboration aimed at overcoming long-standing challenges in managing large-scale connected device ecosystems.
The partnership will integrate Tata Communications MOVE™, an intelligent global eSIM orchestration solution, into Cisco’s IoT Control Center, a cloud-based device management platform already used by more than 32,000 enterprises worldwide. The combined solution promises to simplify device provisioning, unify connectivity across networks, and eliminate interoperability hurdles that have slowed IoT adoption.
As industries ranging from automotive to manufacturing scale their IoT operations, enterprises often struggle with fragmented SIM hardware, reliance on multiple vendors, and complex device lifecycle management. These issues not only inflate costs but also impede the speed and efficiency of IoT rollouts.
By embedding MOVE™’s global reach—covering over 200 countries and territories with more than 350 million eSIM operating systems delivered—into Cisco’s platform supporting 270 million IoT SIM devices (including 100 million connected cars), the collaboration aims to streamline how businesses deploy and manage connected devices.
Key benefits highlighted include:
- Seamless activation and management across multiple SIM providers, networks, and eSIM standards.
- Faster time-to-market through a unified connectivity experience.
- Greater visibility and control across IoT deployments.
- Reduced integration complexity and mitigation of vendor lock-in risks.
- Driving Transformation Across Industries
The initiative is expected to deliver tangible impact in sectors such as transportation, logistics, and utilities, where reliable cross-border IoT connectivity is mission-critical. For instance, trucking companies could instantly activate trailers across regions without needing local SIM cards, while utility providers could monitor infrastructure across both private and public networks without costly reconfigurations.
Marco Bijvelds, Vice President and Global Head of Tata Communications MOVE™, said the collaboration will “empower global businesses to unlock new opportunities, streamline operations, and accelerate digital transformation. We are excited to create a foundation for the future of connected enterprises – where they can scale faster, smarter, and with more confidence.”
Echoing this sentiment, Masum Mir, SVP and GM, Cisco Provider Mobility, noted: “As enterprises need greater simplicity, automation, and scalability to effectively manage increasingly complex use cases, we see eSIM as a foundational technology. Tata Communications’ proven track record as a great Cisco partner made them a logical choice as we advance our vision for mobility services, particularly in managing connected vehicles over the full lifecycle.”
Setting a New Benchmark
With the global IoT market projected to exceed US$1 trillion by the end of the decade, interoperability and scalability are becoming industry imperatives. The Cisco–Tata Communications partnership aims to establish a new benchmark for IoT connectivity—one grounded in lifecycle intelligence, automation, and seamless cross-network integration.
By bridging the gap between device management and global eSIM orchestration, the collaboration positions itself as a catalyst for enterprise innovation, opening new revenue streams and enabling smarter, more resilient connected ecosystems worldwide.
