HONG KONG, August 30, 2026: China Everbright Environment Group Limited reported a 10% increase in profit attributable to equity holders for the first half of 2026, as the environmental services group advanced its technology-led, international and industrial ecosystem strategies.

In overseas markets, Everbright Environment expanded through asset-light models such as equipment supply and design consulting, entering markets including Singapore, the Philippines and Seychelles. It also made progress in Vietnam and Indonesia, advancing its internationalisation strategy across multiple fronts.

For ABT readers, the Southeast Asia angle is significant. Everbright’s expansion into the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam and Indonesia signals how China-based environmental infrastructure companies are using asset-light models to enter high-growth waste, water and environmental services markets across the region.

Asset-Light Business and Technology Commercialisation

In the first half of 2026, Everbright Environment invested in and secured one new project with investment of approximately RMB90 million, and signed new asset-light business contracts with a total contract value of approximately RMB1.04 billion. Technology development remained a major priority. The group restructured its envirotech sector, revised R&D management systems and established cross-sector task forces focused on fly ash resource utilisation and high-value biomass utilisation. It launched more than 10 company-level and sector-level research projects and advanced initiatives such as fly ash resource utilisation and fly ash re-injection.

Its Small and Micro Grate Furnace technology was appraised as internationally leading, with multiple units deployed and operating. The output was equivalent to saving more than 5.7 million tonnes of standard coal.

The group supplied more than 4.42 million tonnes of heat and steam and displaced approximately 7.5 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent greenhouse gas emissions. It also treated nearly 900 million cubic metres of wastewater and waste-to-energy plant leachate, reducing chemical oxygen demand emissions by 470,000 tonnes.

Sector Performance
