P95 Basketball Academy and Limited Edt Launch Singapore’s First Art-Led Tribute to Kobe Bryant on Mamba Day

SINGAPORE, August 24, 2025 – Singapore’s basketball and streetwear communities came together on Mamba Day 2025 as Project 95 (P95) Basketball Academy and Limited Edt unveiled the nation’s first art-led tribute to the late Kobe Bryant. The commemorative event at P95, housed within AiRENA – Singapore’s first AI-enabled sports enterprise – celebrated Bryant’s enduring legacy through sculpture, sport and spirit.

A Sculpture to Capture the Mamba Mentality

Central to the tribute was a striking aluminium sculpture designed to embody the “Mamba Mentality” – Kobe Bryant’s philosophy of resilience, discipline and the relentless pursuit of excellence. The work, created by acclaimed Singaporean artist Jahan Loh, merges urban aesthetics with cultural narrative.

“Kobe stood at the intersection of sport, style and spirit. This was exactly what I wanted to encapsulate through this piece. It is not just a statue; it is a story. Every line, texture and form speaks to a different facet of his legacy as an athlete, a father and an icon who transcended the game,” Loh explained.

Character and Competitiveness

Alan Lim, Director of P95, said the initiative aligns with the academy’s broader mission of developing players both on and off the court.

“At P95, we place as much emphasis on character as we do on skill. The Mamba Mentality is about pushing past your limits with heart and purpose — values we instil in every player. This tribute is a daily reminder of that spirit and what sets P95 apart. Our athletes train with intention, grounded in our three pillars: Family, Discipline and Humility,” Lim said.

P95’s training model reflects this philosophy, focusing not only on basketball fundamentals but also on leadership, mental resilience and teamwork.

Kaiser Ng, Co-Founder of Project 95 Basketball Academy said, “Kobe has taught us many lessons and principles that helped him succeed in life. We are fortunate to have the AiRENA facility as a venue to share the Mamba Mentality with today’s young athletes. We hope to inspire them and help them stay focused and motivated. It’s also important to us that Kobe’s legacy and the Mamba spirit live on.”

Partnership Rooted in Basketball Culture

The tribute was made possible through a partnership with Limited Edt, Singapore’s leading sneaker and streetwear retailer. Founder and Managing Director Mandeep Chopra said Kobe Bryant’s legacy resonates deeply with the brand.

“Kobe Bryant was more than a player. He was a symbol of drive and integrity. Limited Edt is honoured to co-create this tribute, continuing our mission to grow the game and inspire the next generation,” Chopra noted.

The event featured a curated display of Kobe memorabilia from both Limited Edt’s archives and the private collection of Kaiser Ng, providing fans with a rare glimpse into Bryant’s life and career.

Community Engagement

Highlights of the day-long celebration included a parent-child basketball match honouring Kobe and his daughter Gianna, a specially curated sneaker sale spotlighting iconic Kobe silhouettes, and exclusive “Black Mamba Day 2025” cards distributed to attendees.

By merging competitive sport with creative expression, the collaboration between P95 and Limited Edt aims to create a space where art, values and basketball intersect.

Operating under AiRENA, P95 positions itself as Singapore’s first AI-powered basketball academy, championing a holistic approach that develops players on and off the court. Recognising that “95% of the game is played without the ball,” P95 structures training across five key pillars: fundamentals, conditioning, adaptability, leadership, and mindset.

Through the Mamba Day tribute, P95 and Limited Edt underscored their shared commitment to preserving Bryant’s influence while inspiring Singapore’s next generation of players and fans.
