SINGAPORE, August 14, 2025– SGX Mainboard-listed Thakral Corporation Ltd has reported its highest-ever attributable profit of S$109.3 million for the first half of 2025, buoyed by a one-off valuation gain from the listing of GemLife Communities Group on the Australian Stock Exchange. Revenue rose 25% year-on-year to S$160.5 million, with growth driven primarily by strong demand for beauty and fragrance products in China.
The Group’s Lifestyle segment, which accounts for the bulk of its revenue, posted a 26% increase to S$156.6 million in 1H2025. Sales momentum in China was underpinned by a robust retail footprint—Thakral now manages 65 stores across Greater China and India, including 27 outlets from newly acquired skincare brand Yuesai. The brand has strengthened Thakral’s position in the premium beauty segment, tapping into China’s expanding consumer appetite for high-quality skincare and cosmetics.
Looking ahead, Thakral plans to expand its retail presence in Greater China in 2025, adding new stores for its beauty and fragrance portfolio. The Group is also advancing its Beauty Tech unit, with discussions on a potential IPO still underway. While no valuation gains from this business were recorded in the latest results, the segment continues to perform strongly, supported by China’s sustained demand for premium beauty products.
Group CEO and Executive Director Inderbethal Singh Thakral said the company sees “strong potential” in the Chinese market and remains focused on growing its retail footprint in the region. The expansion, he noted, aligns with the Group’s broader strategy to capture growth opportunities in Asia’s lifestyle and consumer sectors.
In addition to its China strategy, Thakral is investing in growth markets such as South Asia’s drone sector and India’s retail coffee market through Nespresso boutiques and e-commerce channels. The company declared an interim dividend of 2 Singapore cents per share and a special interim dividend of 1 cent, representing an annualised yield of 3.6% based on its 30 June 2025 closing price.
