DUBAI, UAE, December 8, 2024 – Singapore-based tech startup QuikBot Technologies has announced its first international expansion, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai CommerCity and global logistics leader Aramex. The agreement, formalised at the WORLDEF Dubai 2024 Forum on December 4, aims to introduce QuikBot’s pioneering Autonomous Final-Mile Delivery (AFMD) Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) to support Dubai’s smart city initiatives.
The partnership will see Aramex facilitating logistics operations, while QuikBot deploys its cutting-edge autonomous delivery technology. The project, set to launch a pilot phase in early 2025, will focus on integrating autonomous robots into Dubai CommerCity’s infrastructure to enhance delivery efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
Global Debut for Singapore’s Smart Logistics Solution
This marks QuikBot Technologies’ first deployment outside Singapore. The company’s AFMD platform leverages robotics, artificial intelligence, IoT, 5G, and cloud technology to optimise last-mile logistics. Already operational in Singapore, the system connects key urban locations such as the Stellar Lifestyle Hive Retail Innovation Hub and South Beach Towers. QuikBot has also been featured in Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) exhibits as a leading example of government-industry collaboration in smart delivery solutions.
“The UAE’s commitment to smart city innovation makes it an ideal environment for our platform,” said Alan Ng, Founder and CEO of QuikBot Technologies. “Expanding globally is a milestone for us, as we aim to empower cities with autonomous delivery systems and support sustainable urban living worldwide. We’re also in discussions with other smart cities in Japan and major urban centres.”
Pilot Programme in Dubai CommerCity
The pilot initiative will see autonomous robots integrated with smart building systems, including elevators and security gates, while designated locations will be provided for parking and charging. Companies within the free zone will be encouraged to adopt the technology for last-mile deliveries.
Amna Lootah, Board Member of Dubai CommerCity, highlighted the significance of this collaboration: “This trial underscores our commitment to driving operational efficiency and solidifies Dubai CommerCity’s position as a leading hub for digital commerce and future technologies.”
Aramex, leveraging its new outlet in Dubai CommerCity, will act as a key logistics facilitator. Tarek Abu Yaghi, General Manager of Aramex, said: “This collaboration reinforces our commitment to adopting innovative, sustainable solutions and providing customers with the highest levels of service.”
The initiative aligns with the Dubai Robotics and Automation Programme, launched by Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The programme seeks to position Dubai among the top 10 global cities in robotics and automation, enhancing efficiency in service and logistics sectors while boosting economic competitiveness.
As QuikBot expands its operations to global cities like Dubai, the startup continues to pioneer smart, sustainable solutions for urban logistics, offering scalable automation to reduce costs and carbon emissions while increasing efficiency in last-mile deliveries.
