MAS Unveils Finalists for 2025 Global FinTech Hackcelerator and FinTech Excellence Awards

SINGAPORE, October 22, 2025 – The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has announced 42 finalists for the 2025 Global FinTech Hackcelerator and FinTech Excellence Awards, highlighting the nation’s continued leadership in fostering innovation, talent, and technology adoption within the financial services sector. Winners will be revealed at the SFF FinTech Excellence Awards Dinner on 13 November 2025, held as part of the Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF).

AI for Financial Services: The Central Theme

The Global FinTech Hackcelerator 2025, organised by MAS in partnership with the Global Finance Technology Network (GFTN), focuses on the theme “Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Financial Services.” The initiative aims to harness the transformative potential of AI to address industry challenges, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer experience across financial institutions.

A total of 18 finalists were shortlisted for the Hackcelerator, each presenting market-ready AI-driven solutions designed to deliver tangible benefits to financial institutions and their clients. During a four-day programme, participants will receive mentoring and networking support from corporates, investors, and industry experts to refine their solutions before the Demo Day at SFF on 12 November 2025.

The top three winners will each receive S$80,000 in prize money. In addition, corporate champions may select finalists for pilot collaborations, and five investment partners — venture capital firms participating for the first time — have collectively earmarked S$2.5 million in potential investments, subject to due diligence.

Recognising FinTech Excellence and Leadership

The FinTech Excellence Awards, jointly organised by MAS and the Singapore FinTech Association (SFA) with support from PwC Singapore, recognise companies and individuals who have demonstrated excellence in developing innovative FinTech solutions and advancing financial inclusion.

The 2025 edition received 155 submissions across six award categories. Of these, 130 corporate submissions were considered across five categories, with four finalists shortlisted per category. The Individual FinTech Mentor Award saw 20 nominations, also narrowed down to four finalists.

This year’s thematic focus aligns with the overarching emphasis on artificial intelligence, celebrating organisations that have leveraged AI to create new growth opportunities, transform financial services, and foster sustainable innovation.

A Growing Culture of Giving Back

For the third consecutive year, the ‘FinTech Gives Back’ initiative has seen members of the FinTech community contribute generously to support the Awards and nurture future innovators. Participating organisations include Ripple, Visa, HeyMax, Aspire, Experian, LexisNexis, Sumsub, Syfe, and YouTrip.

Their continued support reflects the growing ethos of community collaboration within Singapore’s FinTech ecosystem — one that balances competition with collective advancement.

Building a Future-Ready FinTech Ecosystem

Mr Kenneth Gay, Chief FinTech Officer at MAS, praised the calibre of this year’s finalists, stating: “Your groundbreaking AI solutions demonstrate the transformative potential of technology in financial services and reinforce our commitment to building a more efficient and accessible financial ecosystem. We are also encouraged by the continued enthusiasm for the ‘FinTech Gives Back’ initiative, which reflects our community’s dedication to fostering innovation and supporting the next generation of FinTech leaders.”

Ms Holly Fang, President of the Singapore FinTech Association, added: “These exceptional innovators exemplify Singapore’s thriving FinTech talent pool and forward-thinking spirit. The growing momentum behind the ‘FinTech Gives Back’ initiative underscores the vital role our community leaders play in nurturing the next generation of FinTech talent.”

Ms Wong Wanyi, FinTech Leader at PwC Singapore, noted that this year marks the 10th Anniversary of the SFF FinTech Excellence Awards: “PwC Singapore is proud to support a decade of innovation and excellence, honouring the pioneers who are reshaping the financial landscape and empowering a future driven by technology.”

The announcement underscores Singapore’s position as a global hub for financial innovation and technology development, driven by proactive regulation, strong public-private partnerships, and a commitment to responsible digital growth.

Through platforms like the Global FinTech Hackcelerator, the FinTech Excellence Awards, and the Singapore FinTech Festival, MAS continues to champion cross-border collaboration and showcase Singapore as a testbed for next-generation financial technologies — reinforcing the nation’s role as a leading FinTech ecosystem in Asia and beyond.
