SINGAPORE, August 12, 2025 — HID, a global leader in trusted identity and access management, has unveiled an expanded FIDO-certified authentication portfolio backed by a new Enterprise Passkey Management (EPM) platform, aiming to make large-scale passwordless deployment more efficient and cost-effective for enterprises.
The launch comes as research from the FIDO Alliance reveals strong momentum for passkey adoption — with 87% of enterprises already moving towards the technology — but highlights complexity and cost as key barriers for those yet to deploy. HID’s latest offering is designed to address these concerns by combining phishing-resistant authentication hardware with centralised lifecycle management.
“Phishing-resistant authentication isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s a journey, and we’re here to help enterprises along the way,” said Sean Dyon, Vice President and Head of HID’s Authentication Business Unit. “Our next-generation portfolio delivers both the hardware diversity and FIDO management capabilities organisations need to deploy and manage passkeys at scale.”
Centralised, subscription-based management
HID’s EPM solution enables IT and identity management leaders to provision, monitor, and revoke credentials remotely, reducing manual setup and training requirements. The platform provides full lifecycle visibility, including issuance records, revocation controls, and audit trails, to meet compliance needs and enhance operational efficiency.
Expanded hardware line-up
The company’s Crescendo® range now includes:
- Crescendo Keys – Redesigned for improved ergonomics, supporting FIDO2, PKI, and OATH, with remote PIN reset.
- Crescendo Cards – A corporate badge that integrates physical and digital access capabilities, available in dual interface or contactless formats.
- OMNIKEY 5022 Contactless Reader – A cost-effective FIDO reader for PC and workstation authentication.
The devices are compatible with Microsoft Entra ID and other leading identity providers, allowing for integration into existing enterprise environments.
Early testers have endorsed the upgrades, with David Backus, Sales Engineer at TX Systems Identity Solutions, calling the new Crescendo Key “sleek, durable… intuitive and fast to set up,” and recommending it for customers using Entra ID and Windows accounts.
Unified physical and digital access
The launch also includes Seos® FIDO-Enabled Cards and MIFARE DESFire EV3 FIDO-Enabled Cards, combining secure physical access technologies with FIDO 2.1 authentication in a single credential. HID says this integration can boost workforce productivity by streamlining access to both facilities and business applications.
With passwordless authentication becoming a security priority across industries, HID’s expanded portfolio positions the company to capture a growing segment of enterprises seeking scalable, centrally managed solutions for digital identity.
