MemeCore Makes Strategic Move into South Korea with Acquisition of KOSDAQ-Listed Firm

Blockchain project aims to build Web3 ecosystem and expand Meme 2.0 economy in key Asian market

SEOUL, South Korea, June 6, 2025 — MemeCore, the world’s first Layer 1 blockchain designed specifically for the Meme 2.0 movement, has announced plans to acquire a KOSDAQ-listed company, marking its official entry into the South Korean market—one of the most active hubs for cryptocurrency trading globally.

The acquisition represents a strategic milestone for MemeCore as it seeks to strengthen its regional footprint, secure regulatory pathways, and catalyse the development of a vibrant domestic ecosystem of decentralised applications (dApps).

“By acquiring a KOSDAQ-listed company, we aim to establish a stronger foothold in South Korea and further accelerate our expansion into the region,” said Jun, CEO of MemeCore.

Pioneering the Meme 2.0 Economy

At the heart of MemeCore’s offering is a redefinition of meme coins—from short-lived internet trends to long-term cultural and economic assets. The project introduces “Meme 2.0”, underpinned by its proprietary Proof of Meme (PoM) consensus algorithm. This innovative approach enhances the on-chain value and interconnectivity of various community-driven meme coins, setting a new standard for blockchain utility in the viral economy.

MemeCore has gained recent international attention after emerging as the second-largest holder of the $TRUMP token and participating in a private dinner hosted by former U.S. President Donald Trump. The event, reserved for the top 25 $TRUMP holders, featured MemeCore co-founder ICE, underlining the project’s growing global influence.

Strategic Goals for Korean Expansion

The acquisition will enable MemeCore to pursue ISMS certification and Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) registration in South Korea—both essential credentials for operating legally and securely in the local market. The target KOSDAQ-listed company is expected to pivot towards Web3 and digital asset innovation following the acquisition.

In addition to regulatory groundwork, MemeCore’s entry into South Korea sets the stage for:

  • Launch of MRC-20 token services, tailored to Korean developers and users
  • Rollout of community-powered decentralised applications on its native blockchain
  • Formation of strategic partnerships within Korea’s thriving crypto and tech ecosystem

MemeCore is currently conducting due diligence with multiple listed firms and expects to finalise the acquisition in the near future.

Strengthening Regional Blockchain Innovation

South Korea’s crypto-savvy population and advanced digital infrastructure make it a key market for blockchain innovation. MemeCore’s expansion into the country positions it to engage deeply with one of the world’s most sophisticated and active digital asset communities.

By localising its operations and building out a Korean-centric Web3 ecosystem, the company aims to blend global innovation with regional relevance—further advancing its mission to legitimise memes as vehicles for culture, commerce, and community empowerment.
