Women Icons Malaysia 2019 awards presented to 18 enterprising achievers

Initiative aims to be harbinger for rapid mindset change on gender parity & inclusiveness

Kuala Lumpur, March 28, 2019:  Women Leaders, Professionals & Entrepreneurs from diverse sectors based in Malaysia came together at a glittering nite of celebration & networking at the 2nd Women Icons Malaysia Summit & Awards held at Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur Hotel today. The Awards that followed the summit presented the Women Icons Malaysia Awards 2019 to some of the chosen Women Achievers resident in Malaysia, in celebration of their grit and achievements.

An initiative by Singapore-headquarted Business Excellence & Research Group Pte ltd. (BERG), Women Icons www.womenicons.com is a premier regional platform that celebrates and honours the accomplishments & contributions of women who have excelled in different spheres of life. The Women Icons Network (WIN) is also in the process of creating a Gender Parity Index that will measure the levels of gender diversity across organisations in South East Asia.

Malaysia’s pioneering woman banker and current Non-Executive Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia, Datuk Yvonne Chia presented the Key Note Address at the summit, sharing her thoughts on the initiatives women must take to succeed. She said, “To be successful you need not be very clever, but you definitely need to be smart. You need to make the most of the opportunities that come your way.”

The summit theme was The Millennial World View Towards Gender Parity & Inclusiveness”. The panelists comprised of Datin Kalavalli Sethu, Managing Director, Compass Insights, Ms Faridah Hameed, Founder, FaridahHameed.com, Ms Amy Seok, Founder-CEO, Money Compass Media Group and Mr Victor Tay, Former Vice Chairman, United Nations Global Compact.

Women Icons Summit & Awards by BERG Singapore draws Elite to World Stage

The inaugural edition of the Summit & Awards celebrated the successful journey of Women Entrepreneurs & Professionals from across Asia & SE Asia.

The Inaugural Edition of the Women Icons Summit & Awards – www.womenicons.com a premier platform that celebrates and honours the accomplishments & contributions of “WOMEN” who have excelled in different spheres of life, was held amidst fun-fair here at the Raffles Town Club Singapore on 17th Mar 2017. Bangkok to host first-ever ASEAN-ISRAEL Security Summit on Feb 21

The premier Cyber and Homeland Security Conference will witness industry leaders, decision makers, academicians and government officials exchange ideas on security trends and best practices.

Bangkok, January 18, 2017: The realisation of ASEAN Economic Community has thrown open a significant opportunity for security systems integration business — be it Homeland or IT security. Systems integrators in the region are now looking to expand their business beyond their native markets to other countries within this region.

BERG’ Prestigious ‘Icons of Spaces’ Awarded to Leading Architects & Developers

Singapore-based Business Excellence & Research Group (BERG), hosted its signature award – Icons of Spaces — the 3rd BERG Real Estate Awards on July 22, 2016 at the Raffles Town Club in Singapore. The Awards, in its third year, reached out to professionals in the real estate & construction sector across South Asia, South East Asia & Middle East.

The Gala Awards Nite provided an ideal platform for developers, architects, interior designers to come together and offer critical insights from a different perspective.

In his welcome address, Mr. Prashant Sutaria, a leading Architect and Founder of the Centre of Living and Planning for Tomorrow (CLPT) highlighted the importance of integrating design aspects at the project level itself and not as an after-thought. He stated that world is moving towards newer design concepts that factor in sustainability, safety and security at all levels. Mr. Prashant is also part of the Expert Group at Icons of Spaces and has supported the initiative since its inception.

The Gala Awards Night also featured a power-packed panel discussion around Urbanisation & Sustainability in Construction and the keynote speech from the nodal building and construction players in Singapore.  Some well known industry stalwarts from Singapore and other countries shared their views. Eminent panellists – Ms. Hemanti Sutaria — Architect — Mumbai, Ms. Uma Srinivasan — Vice President, SNN Builders, Bangalore, Mr. Gordon Falconer, Director – Smart City Solutions, Schneider Electric and Mr. Bibhor Srivastava — Publisher, ITP Publishing, India dwelt on the challenges around Urbanisation and Sustainability in the construction industry.

While announcing the theme for the third edition of the premier event, Managing Partner of BERG, Mr Vishwesh Iyer said that this year the focus was on the booming international real estate sector. This time, the nomination process attracted a lot of interest from India and other countries in Asia as well, he stated.
